Robert J. Butler Memorial Golf Tournament:
4th Annual Golf Classic

Get out your clubs and join us on September 15, 2008 for our 4th Annual Golf Classic. Robert Butler began this event in 2004 and with the great support we receive from both the golfers and the community each event has been more successful than the previous year. If you are interested in a great day of golf, good food, a raffle and bidding on great prizes in our silent auction download our brochure with the registration form and send it in. With your help we can make this year even better than last year.

A Stitch In Time

One of the components to our P.A.S.S. Group Home is providing vocational training to our youth so that they are able to locate and maintain employment in the community. A Stitch In Time, provides pre-vocational training and a chance for the youth to practice the skills while gaining the benefits of learning to knit or crochet. This program runs all year long and extends in the summer to provide additional work and training hours for the youth. The youth sell their knitted and crocheted items along with supplies online and at craft fairs and other venues throughout the Greater Waterbury and Hartford communities. This summer they will be selling their creations at 505 Hudson St. in downtown Hartford and at the Naugatuck Arts Council Summer Music Festival located on the Naugatuck Town Green on August 12th and 19th.

Robert J. Butler Memorial Garden

Last year we came up with a plan to create a memorial garden at Beacon House to honor the years of dedication and service that Robert Butler had given to the agency. In September 2007 during the United Way Day of Caring volunteers and staff worked on creating the space and in July of 2008 the final touches were completed. I invite you to view images of this beautiful space.

Website Updates

We have updated our website over the last few months. We added a direct donations button to our How to Help and Donate pages. We have also included specific Wish List for each of the programs and a Photos page so that you can see pictures from our events. We continue to update our site with new pages, images, and information throughout the year so bookmark us and come back often.
